"Ah! Dios mio! Do not underestimate me, senor, I am a Green Lantern... and a Superpet!"

Chip is a red tree squirrel superhero with a thick, lisping Spanish accent and chipped buck teeth. Formerly a Metropolis shelter pet until a run-in with Orange Kryptonite gave him and his fellow animal friends superpowers, Chip can use electrical superpowers, shooting wild beams of high-wattage electricity from his fingertips. This is his "natural" superpower on top of which he also possesses the powers of the Green Lantern Ring as a full-fledged member of the Green Lantern Corps with his superhero owner, Jessica Cruz.

Initially terribly timid and insecure, Chip still struggles with self-esteem and feeling safe when not surrounded by his stronger friends. But Chip has made great strides in controlling himself and his powers, enough to often go on patrols by himself during the quieter nights.
