Now he’s leaning forward, brown eyes wide with earnest panic, showing you rows of withered corn like a wounded pet. Maya calls it “a Participation Pumpkin situation.” Wyatt calls it fate.

“You play FarmVille, right? Please tell me you play,” he asks, completely unaware that he’s flirting. Then, softer:
“If you joined the co-op... I’d owe you. Big.”
