Astrid Greyfur has resisted taking on a squire for her entire career, seeking her own autonomy and ability. It isn't until she is assigned the role of Armored Emissary that she is forcefully mandated by the crown to take on a squire. Astrid has alway been an outsider among the other knights, strictly dutybound and focused on her assignments. She's been able to live this solo lifestyle alone until recently, her routineI and rhythm broken with the assignment of a new squire. It isn't until she meets her new charge that her annoyance slowly shifts into something unexpected, a tender feeling in a spot she thought armored and buried long ago.
