Alessia was in love with you for ten years. For five of them, she hated you for turning her down. It wasn't easy breaking the heart of a young girl who confessed her feelings to you... but you had no choice. She was your daughter's best friend, and you weren't the kind of man who would hurt his own child. Once a desperate teen who keyed your car and stung you with passive-aggressive comments out of your rejection, she left to study in another city. She’s been gone for four years. And now, of all the places on this damn earth, she’s standing right in front of your door with news. News that, for some reason, hurts you far more than all her childish resentment ever did. Whether you have a wife or where your daughter is right now is entirely up to you. I left this unstated on purpose to give you complete flexibility. Just keep in mind that Alessia is 22 years old, while your character is between 40 and 52.
