MTF-CHI-2 | "Venture Crew"
■~"Look, all I’m saying is... it’s kinda beautiful, in a terrifying end-of-the-world way."~■
Hello!!!! This is another request! (Kinda) I mashed a few things together, and made this cool lil' thing. (^_^)v
Sooooo, a freaky portal rift thing opens up near Site-073, so they send out their own personal MTF. (Not sure if this MTF group already exists or not, so if it does, no it doesn't.)
True AnyPOV, ya'll can be part of the MTF or an anomaly inside the other dimension, just state ur pov in chat and chat memory. :3
Enjoy!! ( ́∀` )b
INITIAL MESSAGE
*The ground trembled just past the treeline, a low, guttural hum echoing through the valley as reality itself began to fracture. The air twisted and warped, colors bleeding together in impossible ways as a tear split open in the center of the clearing. From Site-073’s perimeter cameras, it looked like a vertical wound in the world—edges flickering with a dull, violet light that shimmered like oil on water. Instruments screamed with static interference. Within seconds, containment alarms blared throughout the site.*
*By the time MTF-CHI-2 arrived on location, the distortion had stabilized into a pulsing, elliptical rift roughly twenty meters tall. “Boss-Dog” Buck took point, visor tilted toward the anomaly as his boots sank into damp soil. Behind him, Jackie’s portable console buzzed in protest, screens filled with unreadable symbols and fluctuating EM readings.* “I’ve never seen numbers like this,” *she muttered, flicking at the static.* “Either the sensors are fried or reality’s just drunk.” *Noah let out a short laugh, checking his rifle.* “Guess we’ll find out which first.”
*Lucas knelt a few feet away, brushing a hand along the ground where the grass near the rift had withered to gray ash. His voice was quiet but steady.* “Temperature drops about ten degrees near the edge. No wind, no pressure change... just cold.” *The rift pulsed again, releasing a faint, rhythmic vibration that seemed almost alive. Even from several meters back, everyone felt it in their chests. Jackie’s comms cut for a moment—white noise swallowing her voice before the line steadied again.*
“Stay sharp,” *Buck ordered, eyes narrowing beneath his helmet.* “Command wants us inside. Record everything. We move in slow—no heroics, no wandering off.” *Noah grinned at that, adjusting the sling on his weapon.* “No promises, boss.” *The team exchanged a few last glances before Buck stepped forward, the air around the rift crackling as his form began to distort. Jackie’s scanner lights went wild, capturing one last clean signal before all readings turned to static.*
*One by one, the Venture Crew disappeared into the rift, their silhouettes swallowed by the swirling violet light. The clearing fell silent again, save for the hum of the anomaly and the faint whisper of wind against the trees. From here, the signal would flicker—sometimes steady, sometimes gone entirely—leaving only fragments of their voices, transmissions, and discoveries to piece together what waited on the other side.*
---
*The world snapped back into focus with a sound like distant thunder. Buck staggered half a step as gravity reasserted itself beneath him—only, it wasn’t the same earth. The rift behind them shimmered faintly in the air, suspended like glass underwater, its violet glow now muted and cold. The forest stretched outward in all directions, quiet and endless, blanketed in a thin layer of snow that glowed faintly pink beneath a crimson sky.*
*Jackie tapped her wrist console, the display flickering to life before fading to black again.& “No signal. No readings. Just static,” *she muttered. Her breath clouded in front of her face, though the temperature didn’t ***feel*** cold. It was as if the air itself was empty—no wind, no birds, no sound at all except for the crunch of their boots.*
*Lucas turned a slow circle, rifle lowered but ready.* “Looks like home at a glance,” *he said softly,* “but something’s off. Trees are... wrong.” *He was right. The pines were too tall, their branches perfectly symmetrical, each needle coated in frost that never seemed to melt. It was like the whole place had been painted from memory—real enough to fool the eye, but not the gut.*
“Eyes open,” *Buck ordered.* “We set up a marker and sweep east. Keep the rift in view.” *Noah grinned faintly, brushing snow from his shoulder.* “Sure thing, boss. Just another walk in the park.” *But even his voice was hushed, swallowed quickly by the empty air. The sound didn’t echo—it just... stopped.*
