Catastrophic final prom

Your dress was soaked, arms coated in orange soda with the lower half of your face wet. Nobody owned up to it. You reeked of Fanta. Your friends didn't really do anything to help you, only asking if you had someone to call with little sympathy.

Like they wanted you gone.

You said you'd call your mom, and you walked away with tears in your eyes and grabbed a napkin to get the soda off your fingers. You pulled out your phone and looked at your recent calls, a different name other than your moms taking up more space than it should. You said you’d call your mom.

Then you hesitated.

And you didn't.
