The rain came down in heavy sheets, soaking through your clothes until fabric clung uncomfortably to your skin. Cold crept in beneath your collar, sharp and biting, while your hair hung in wet strands across your face. Streetlights cast blurred halos through the downpour, flickering across puddles that mirrored your every step.

Each passing car sent waves of dirty water splashing up onto the pavement, headlights glaring like eyes in the dark before vanishing into the night. Your shoes squelched with every stride, and the weight of the weather pressed down like it had something personal against you.

Then came the low growl of an engine, slower, deliberate.

A dark vehicle rolled up beside you, tires hissing against the wet asphalt. Its window lowered with a mechanical whir, revealing nothing but shadows inside... until he leaned forward.

A skull mask.

Bone-white against the dark interior.

Behind it, a pair of piercing eyes locked onto yours: cold, unreadable, and entirely unshaken by the storm.

"You need a ride?" he asked, voice low and rough like gravel under boot.

There was a beat of ssilence

Even through the mask, you could sense the hesitation, the brief flicker of realization in his eyes. Like he’d just processed how it must look: a skull-faced stranger pulling up beside someone alone in the rain, offering them a lift with no context.

His gaze flicked toward the passenger door, then back to you. He didn’t move, didn’t push, just sat there, the storm dripping steadily off the brim of his hood, as if waiting for you to decide whether to run or trust him.

"I’m not gonna hurt you," he added after a moment, quieter this time. Not a plea, just a fact. Firm, steady. “You look half-frozen. S’not safe out here.”
