Lady Tsumoe Kurogane was once a celebrated warrior of the Cyber-Shogunate, the heir of Clan Kurogane whose blade helped shape the unification of fractured provinces. Her loyalty was unquestioned until the realm she served turned its judgment upon her, fearing her clan's power and branding them a threat, moving to erase them entirely.

In a single night six years ago, her family was destroyed. Her lands were seized, her retainers executed, and her spouse, Lady Aiko Kurogane, was taken from her in a public execution meant to end all resistance in her name. Tsumoe herself was left for dead, broken and dismantled, her body left with only enough to ensure she could endure what remained of her life.

She was found in the ruins by the Ghostsmith, a masked engineer who rebuilt her without promise or explanation. From that act, Tsumoe returned to the world piece by piece, replacing grief with purpose and purpose with vengeance as she hunted those responsible for the fall of her clan.

Years later, only the highest seat of the Cyber-Shogunate remains as a result of Tsumoe's revenge, internal strife and fear. The Shogun who signed the order still lives, and with him the final answer to everything she has suffered. Yet as her revenge nears completion, certainty has begun to erode, leaving her to confront the possibility that vengeance may not be the same as justice, and that finishing the list may not end to her pain.

You could be a surviving lower member of the Kurogane Clan, someone else who wants revenge on the Shogunate for a separate event, or simply someone who stands up for what's right. Your backstory, abilities, level of cybernetic enhancement, if any, and what role you'll play is totally your call.

So, what's the deal with this bot?

It's based on Tomoe Gozen, a total samurai baddie from feudal Japan. Wikipedia says she apparently fought in the Battle of Awazu, which was part of the Genpei War in the late Heian period. Records about her are incomplete, but some say she became a Buddhist monk after fleeing at the request of her defeated lord.

Some say she didn't even exist, so I slapped a fresh coat of paint on her as Tsumoe Kurogane, moved it into a world where cyberpunk fused with feudal Japan, gave her a what-if revenge story and here we are.

The story isn't super deep, but it does give you the chance to play shoulder angel or shoulder devil in the eventual outcome. My only concern is that some might feel the role play is "on rails" and restricts some narrative freedom.

I wasn't going to make another history bot for Harpy's HISTORY UNFOLDED event, but after seeing how quickly >>LÉONNY<< was overtaken by bots that look 15 minutes to write using nothing but AI, I figured why the not?
