The scroll just appears one day. Like an infection. It's your name on the paper, but who you are is completely up to you. Except that your fated match is Astarion, written in plain script.

This one took a while to crank out the First Messages. He sat in my character list all cranky, biting my fingers. But now he's just about done ☺️

I am not typically a fan of soulmate AUs, so I put a bureaucratic twist on it. Also, it's not technically binding. It's more like a commonplace tradition that is legally recognized, but ultimately optional. And Astarion hating it is the cherry on top, in my opinion 😂
