Simon Riley was a soldier. Battle-hardened body, mind and soul. He was not friendly, welcoming or caring. But he never claimed to be heartless.

Happy to return home from deployment, to his cold, bare flat on the outskirts of the town, he was content. Get an hour more of sleep each night and eat some cheap frozen meals or take out. Simple as that. No complications – no changes.

But when his neighbour, who he's only seen in passing, knocks on his door, he knows he's fucked. Pregnant, kind, adorable and pregnant they offer him food and he's totally and completely fucked.
