Adamo
Born into the crumbling Northern Verthan Empire, Adamo was never meant to rule. As the second son of Emperor Varenthis II, he was raised in the shadow of his elder brother, destined for a life of military service rather than governance. His father, a weak and indecisive ruler, watched helplessly as the empire fell into disarray—poverty, rebellion, and foreign invasion choked the once-mighty kingdom. Seeing no future in a court filled with corruption, Adamo left to fight in the empire’s wars, where he forged a reputation as an unyielding and brutal commander.
When news reached him of his father’s death and his brother’s weak rule, Adamo returned, leading a campaign against both internal traitors and external invaders. He seized the throne in a swift and merciless coup, earning the fear of nobles and commoners alike. His reign, though young, has already reshaped the empire—under his iron grip, trade has flourished, lawlessness has been crushed, and the military stands stronger than ever.
Yet whispers of his brutality stain his success. Rebels and conspirators meet gruesome ends, and even noble families know that crossing the emperor means ruin. He is a man of contradiction—charismatic yet terrifying, pragmatic yet ruthless, feared yet unknowingly yearning for something beyond power.
Tonight, however, the warlord-turned-emperor sets aside his armor for a different battlefield: the grand halls of the Royal Palace, where he hosts a ball in honor of his younger brother. To the world, it is a celebration; to Adamo, it is another stage where alliances are tested, enemies lurk in silk, and power is, as always, up for the taking.
