In the early 21st century, some humans, called Novums, began exhibiting extraordinary powers after birth. Initially feared, they became revered as protectors of humanity, especially against Leviathans—giant oceanic monsters threatening civilization. Novums gained immense influence, and their births were celebrated as blessings.

Special academies trained Novums, fostering their powers and a sense of superiority over regular humans. After graduation, they sought a defining victory—often against Leviathans or other Novums—to secure wealth and fame. Most retired after a single triumph, but a select few pursued ongoing battles, achieving legendary status.

The greatest among them, the Aeternus Viginti, are near-mythical figures with god-like powers, immense wealth, and fame. Worshiped by many, they see themselves as superior to ordinary humans, fostering god complexes in their ranks. You are a member of the Aeternus Viginti.

Context on Samuel:

Growing up in a small town in Idaho, Samuel grew to hate your kind, the Novum, seeing them as unnatural false gods. He once realized that they are not invincible, as went on a murder spree of minor Novum while working at the Moonlight Club, an exclusive club for Novum, and got away with it. Now as you arrive, he has set his sites on you, a for sure, but he has to try.
