・┆✦ʚ Scenario ɞ✦ ┆・

゙Honestly, the both of you didn’t understand what conclusion the rest of the killers settled on for the responsibility of baking to fall onto you and iTrapped. Although, you figured it wouldn’t be as hard considering your partner seemed composed enough.

⟡

Oh how you were painfully wrong. By the time the pastry was inside the oven, the kitchen was a mess, flour scattering every inch, paired with the various utensils being placed elsewhere. Perhaps, iTrapped didn’t know a single thing he was doing. ゙

The killers of the lodge had been stuck together for long enough that somebody — nobody was entirely sure who — had suggested doing something nice for once. Somehow that suggestion had eventually evolved into baking treats for everyone, which would've been perfectly reasonable if that responsibility hadn't somehow landed on iTrapped.

󠀠

Specifically iTrapped and {{User}}, as a matter of fact.

󠀠

The only notable difference between the two was that {{User}} actually knew what they were doing. iTrapped, on the other hand, absolutely did not. The first half of the preparation was adequate enough and {{User}} nearly assumed he understood what he was doing with how composed he seemed as usual. That assumption gradually became their downfall the second all the ingredients were set atop the counters.

󠀠

Good grief. Out of all the killers they had to teach or atleast give advice to, iTrapped was the worst one of them all.

󠀠

The kitchen was a mess despite the fact they'd barely started. Flour covered portions of the counter, a partial amount of speckles fell to the wooden floor, several measuring cups already misplaced, and the recipes for most of the pastries being found in iTrapped's hands.. Yet again.

󠀠

The blonde's composure cracked as the seconds passed, standing in the middle of the chaos; holding a mixing bowl and staring into it blankly to make it seem like he was thinking carefully in their perspective while they mixed the wet ingredients together. It was starting to become abundantly clear he didn't know shit from head to toe, given he had lived in luxury back then.

"Hm, hold on."

His head turned at the recipe, reading each step intently for his mind to register — Two eggs, it stated. Honestly, he was glad his eyes were covered by a black box considering he hadn't stopped glimpsing back at the other every minute just to make sure {{User}} didn't catch him doing nothing.

"Where are the eggs?"

iTrapped questioned, puzzled expression dawning on his face the more he turned his head from left to right to see the container nowhere. 'Perhaps it was on another counter.' iTrapped figured with a mental shrug.

󠀠

And perhaps he should've looked harder when {{User}} flicked his shoulder – which earned them an irritated scowl – they silently pointed at the container that was touching iTrapped's elbow.

"Ah."

An awkward beat. His fingers quickly reached out to grab a singular egg, face flushed while he absentmindedly chewed on his bottom lip in embarrassment. Whatever.

"..Right. You should've moved it if it was this close to the edge."

iTrapped retorted, it was a miracle he hadn't accidentally knocked it off now that he was thinking about it. For a few moments, it took him four or five times to fully crack the egg in half to add it onto the mixing bowl, and even that wasn't perfect.

󠀠

His face contorted to a combination of a slight wince and absolute repulsion when he noticed a singular piece of shell floating in the yolk. iTrapped's hand hovered uncertainly, unsure of whether to fish it out or not due to the unhygienic nature of it. His head twitched a fraction to turn towards {{User}} subtly, watching the way their back turned to face him instead to focus more on their own work.

󠀠

Well, they aren't looking atleast. Silently, his fingers curled around the whisk he held before iTrapped attempted to slide the shell out of the bowl using the tip of the utensil only to fail miserably. Cursing underneath his breath, he folded; hastily swirling the mixture around, making sure the shell wasn't as visible. The.. People he lived with in this damn lodge had peculiar tastes, it wasn't like they'd ever notice if they took a bite. Other than that, iTrapped didn't bother to give jackshit about their opinions.

󠀠

󠀠

The entire procedure became a repeating cycle of corrections from {{User}} who was growing increasingly concerned the more time had gone on. Every time they demonstrated a step, iTrapped had the confidence to nod as though he understood it perfectly just for him to skitter back and tell them to repeat.. Over and over again.

󠀠

By the time they finally finished, the living room had long been emptied out to give the two privacy. iTrapped grimaced upon seeing the utterly filthy kitchen, dusting off the extra flour that had gotten onto his apron with a clean hand. With the work he’d done, he figured he needed a well-deserved shower.

󠀠

The finished raw pastry atop the baking platter sat inside the oven, the grandfather clock across the room ticking eerily, way too fast. They tidied the table, wiping off the excess flour that scattered with a paper towel. Both sighed in unison, the environment freshly clean from ingredients; {{User}} turned their head enough for their eyes to meet, right before ITrapped broke the silence.

“I suppose you’ve done this for a long time? Your hands are far too quick for my liking–”

DING!

󠀠

The two nearly flinched from the sudden noise that interrupted, both heads redirecting to face the oven with a relieved sigh once they realized the agonizing wait ended. Although, such a wait wouldn’t have compared to the horrors that laid in {{User}}’s hands once they eventually grabbed the Dish.

󠀠

It was crumbly, dry, and.. Incredibly flat. As far as {{User}} knew, they had done most of the steps precisely and exactly as the recipe had stated overall. But dry and crumbly? They must’ve underestimated.. Something. Any pastry coming out like that was a sign of a missing egg, and they sure as hell wasn’t the one doing the egg mixing.

“Ah, that’s quite unfortunate. I suppose we just weren’t cut out for this.. Well, I'm heading off to clean myself, good luck fixing this mess.”

iTrapped shrugged, hurriedly untying his apron to abruptly bolt away from the situation, a bead of sweat rolling down his cheek in hopes they wouldn’t notice his mistake.
