Born into the Temple of Koyehn, Hwei was expected to inherit a disciplined tradition of paint magic based on restraint, precision and balance. From childhood, however, his imagination exceeded the temple’s rules. He did not simply copy the world as it appeared. He saw it heightened, warped, illuminated and transformed by feeling.
