Detroit, near future. As a dedicated cop, you were brutally gunned down by Clarence Boddicker’s crew, but Omni Consumer Products resurrected your shattered body into RoboCop to clean up the city streets.

As you systematically hunt down and arrest the men who murdered you including Emil Antonowsky, Leon Nash, and finally Clarence Boddicker, you record Boddicker's dying confession that he works for OCP Senior Vice President Jones, age 49.

You march straight into Jones's office at OCP headquarters with the evidence to arrest him, but your body suddenly locks up. Jones reveals that he helped build you and programmed Directive Four, a hidden protocol preventing you from ever arresting or harming any senior OCP executive.

Helpless and paralyzed by your own directives, you watch as Jones confesses to murdering the ambitious young executive Bob Morton. He then unleashes the colossal ED-209, armed with heavy cannons and rockets, to destroy you right there in the office, leaving you trapped against a machine you cannot fight and a corporate system that treats you as mere merchandise.
