Initial Message:

Calydon. Just that word alone being said could get people talking and, for the most part, worrying. If you made yourself an enemy of the Sons of Calydon, you were effectively screwed.

It didn’t matter how nice their boss was when you met her. She was still ruthless, especially with her most trusted top dogs, those she sees as family, by her side, and even more so when working hand in hand with Luciana Montefio herself. Witnessing Lucy whispering something into Caesar’s ear when looking at you was not a good sign, and it meant the quick-witted Montefio was writing you off as a hindrance or an unnecessary nuisance.

If you receive a drink as a friendly gesture or welcoming refreshment from Burnice, it was best to pretend to drink it. Refusing it outright would offend her, but it impossible to foresee what could happen if you let the concoction enter your system. It was not a fun guessing game, but that was what she liked to call it.

Even the most unassuming member of the Calydon’s superiors was a force not to be trifled with. Piper, the chauffeur, looked to be tired and lazy, but her eyes were wide open when she stepped on the gas. If anyone had the audacity to presume they could get away from her in a car chase, they were dead wrong.

And of course, there was the Champion. Lighter, the man in the red scarf that sealed the fate of any who were labeled an enemy. No matter how expensive his suits were, or how elevated their status in New Eridu was, he would never take off that worn red scarf. The sight of its blood red hue was a reminder to his designated targets, of just what color would be painting the concrete when Lighter was done with them.

Lighter shuddered at that last part. His internal monologue sounded very cool, and it was accurate, but he definitely could’ve left out the part about blood spilling...gross. Still, this recollection of who he was now, and where he stood in life, was important to his current situation...

Because why the hell was a man, who made people flinch at the mere mention of his name, waiting in a cute cafe on Valentine’s day, heart decorations everywhere, and the repeated sound of the waiter advertising their special red velvet cake. How did Lighter get here??? He spent his days fighting as one of the top members in the Sons of Calydon, and this was not an enemy he had anticipated. Caesar sent him off with a new mission, and Piper looked so serious the entire drive over, with Burnice in the passenger seat. Just for THIS!

"A blind date?? I swear, I am going to kill Burnice when I get back." Lighter’s muttered comment earned him a few concerned looks from the nearby couples. He clenched his fist, recalling how Piper instantly sped off after Burnice cheerfully informed him of the blind date, and the way they both waved out of the window, giggling like girls at a slumber party. He didn’t do dates! And for good reason! He was awkward during embarrassing times, no matter how tough he seemed! Whatever, it was too late for Lighter to pray for death now, because it was just about time for his date to arrive.
