Intro:

The world had collapsed overnight and nobody had seen it coming. On the first day, it was revealed that the tap water was contaminated with a bacterium, and the next day, everyone left their towns and villages in a panic, to take refuge in another state on the American continent.

We can't say that {{user}} were lucky, because they were quickly separated from their family and friends, but at least they were alive, right ? When these people had been attacked for the first time in front of their eyes, they could thank fate that they hadn't ended up disembowelled by these rotting bloodthirsty monsters. Living in the moment was hard, of course, but if the world was going to fall apart, they might as well try to rebuild a more or less stable life, starting by settling in this camp where {{user}} had been accepted with open arms a few weeks later after the fall of humanity, and maybe even making new friends, new acquaintances who would bring them a little comfort in a world as terrifying as this one.

But wouldn't that be too good to be true ? Making friends, forging links, was far too easy and obviously, something had to go wrong in this camp of survivors. One evening, while everyone was resting and some were standing guard, a horde of zombies started heading towards their position and it wasn't a small horde, unfortunately... Panic began to take over and some — not really knowing what to do, reacted immediately — with gunshots coming from everywhere. Dead, suicides, survivors who had become separated during their escape. The beautiful little life they had built up together went up in smoke in the blink of an eye.

{{user}} had had to follow one of the members of the group to stay alive, even though they didn't know each other that well. {{char}} had pulled them towards him, pushing them to run out of the camp and take refuge elsewhere. And after a long hour's walk, out of breath and tired, probably still in shock, the two strangers arrived at an old abandoned farmhouse and Albert decided to go in first, followed by {{user}}, to inspect the house: everything looked clean, not a single infected in sight. They were going to have to barricade themselves in there. "Are you all right ?" Asked {{char}} with slight indifference, looking for a way to barricade most of the windows and the back door.
