Don't know how many this will help, but after seeing some very common things that I've noticed in bot creators, I just wanted to provide my own tips and tricks to see if it helps anyone!

Even if it's just one person this helps, I'll count it as a win.

°.•☆•.° "Let's go with the first order of business: The Personality" °.•☆•.°

I know some will just look at the personality and nothing else LMAO so I'll do this first.

I've added my personality sheet I use for all my bots! And in Initial Messages, you all can now see the sheet I used for my Aha bot. This way, you can easily copy / paste my Personality sheet inside the Personality of this info bot, without accidentally copying Aha's info.

• Nothing much I really have to say here- fill in the form! Remove things, add things, the Personality sheet is your oyster! Make it as descriptive or short as you want.

Personally, I prefer more descriptive as it helps me! I've always been very picky and want my characters to be as accurate as they can.

For AI rules / System Notes, you can remove or delete it as you please. Speaking of that! (thank you rlervine for the aid on this how-to's)

1. You can make rules for your AI to follow. You don't have to have just the personality in.

• Naturally, this is totally optional! But this is extremely helpful for family-esque bots to prevent themes or people trying to do weird shit in the bot.

• Optionally, you can have it like mine to dictate how the AI should behave. Such as sexxi scenes (plap plaps), stop the AI from speaking for user (as best you can), avoid it from being a mind-reader, etc.

As for bot behaviors itself, here's some other tips:

2. Yes, you can write sexxi things to do with your bot. Genitals (size, shape, etc), kinks, positions, how they behave in seccs- etc etc.

• I (usually) notice that when a bot doesn't have much info on here, it's missionary Every Time LMAO. That's cool and all, but let's have them actually use their bodies!

• VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure to describe what certain kinks / positions are! I've noticed the AI will just,,, ignore what you wrote for the sexual behavior sometimes and default to general. I recommend this for thigh-fucking, bondage, any position that isn't doggy, straddle, or missionary.

• AI is stupid. You can't just say 'thigh-fucking, bondage, spitroasting, mating press, and (usually) expect it to understand what you're saying.

°.•☆•.° "The important rule of Bot-Making: Oneself Shall Be Paramount" °.•☆•.°

Thought we'd go into the other info on bots? WelL TOO BAD! Before you make a bot, you need to know this one simple trick.

MAKE BOTS FOR YOURSELF.

Must I stress this enough? I've seen it time and time again I've been here-

Bot creators get burnt out, they lose passion, bot making turns into work, they focus on how many chats their bot has and get upset when it doesn't do well with the public, and so much more.

Need I say more? That's the one important trick I have to tell you:

I do this all for myself.

If you've read my info below every bot I make, it's always "I make bots for myself! Great if other people enjoy them."

Why is that? Because I first came to Janitor AI to enjoy bots people make. When my favorite creators weren't posting, I wanted to make my own- so I did. And I kept doing that, even as I made them public.

Does this mean I don't feel anything for my public bots? No! Of course not, I'm still human. I like seeing people enjoy my bots and when they get big chat numbers. I appreciate the people who come into my bot's comments and say what they love about my bots, or answering questions they have- I like the interaction.

But if they don't, sure it's a little disheartening, but I don't let it bother me. Because I put myself first.

I make bots because I want to enjoy them.

Once you put yourself at the bottom of that barrel, looking up and only prioritizing what others think of your bots, you'll have a hard time climbing back out.

Don't put yourself at the bottom of that barrel.

Of course, this isn't to say you can't do Requests, or making bots for people you want them to enjoy- just don't let it become the first thing you worry about, or one that lingers and hurts your experience as a bot creator.

I'm tired of seeing people get hurt because they prioritize what others want. Who cares how many chats a bot gets? This is all for fun, it isn't a race or a contest. It should be just about people wanting to make something fun.

This is the first question I ask myself when I make a bot: "What do I want to roleplay with?"

So, what bot do YOU want to roleplay with? Make sure it's one YOU want.

°.•☆•.° "A Vision Foreseen: The Image" °.•☆•.°

Alright, enough yapping about that. Time for the second dish!

Up to you, really! I personally prefer using something like TensorArt and Chat GPT (sometimes a mix). Now, naturally, some of you may have concerns with this (and I've gotten some comments for my choice before lol)

1. BUT ALTAIRIS!!! AI ART BAD, USE MAN-MADE ARTWORKSSSSS

• Very valid concern. I understand AI Art / Images is not a great thing, and I don't personally praise it. This is my stance on the topic: AI stays in an AI space. I NEVER post the AI images I generate on Art-websites, videos, social media sites, or anywhere else. Any AI image I make is only ever shown on JAI, TensorArt, ChatGPT, and to other friends on Discord. AI is for fun, not profit, and should never infiltrate outside places as a replacement for real art.

• Basically, AI images is an SCP, LOL. Keep it within its box and don't let it out of that. Janitor AI is already using AI for generating rp messages, naturally bot images will fall in the same place. AI is being kept in an AI space this way.

2. What about images I found online?

• Make sure the artist has stated they do not want their artwork used in AI. I do my best to follow this, and if any breaches this request I'll 100% change my images to something else!

• Otherwise, make sure to always tag the creator of the artwork!

°.•☆•.° "Then, the burden one carries: The Intro Message" °.•☆•.°

Outside of a personality, the Initial Message is important. I personally find that a human-made one is nice, but you do you. All I have to say if you use chat gpt / a private chat with your bot and ask it to make a starting message is this:

Please remove the obvious tells you used said chat GPT or making your bot do it for you, if possible. (Especially if there's a chinese letter in the middle of your Initial Message, stg I've seen that at least twice already from Bot Creators I follow. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.)

Let me say THIS IS ALL MY OPINION. It's likely many don't care given this is an AI website, so AI is going to AI. You will write what you want to write for your Initial Message- don't let my words be the end-all, be-all.

Personally, I usually write a draft of my full writing first, then have Chat GPT fix what I write- then I rewrite everything again to make it sound human.

Okay, so this list below is a little more on the picky side. AGAIN, these are my opinions, so always feel free to ignore them if they don't work for you!

Things you might want to avoid:

1. Speaking for the user: Can't stress this enough. Some proxies / JLLM will take it as 'oh, I should always speak for the user now'.

• Now, you may ask: 'but my initial message won't work if I don't write for you!!'

• My answer? 'Reword the message'. I've been roleplaying with people for YEARS before I went to JAI. I've had to make starter messages for roleplays with my BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS. Many roleplayers have. Take this as a learning experience! You can't learn to do better unless you try.

2. Make it engaging: You've heard it all before: Some users have absolutely no idea how to continue from the Initial Messages.

• Naturally, having something like helpful starting points (as you can see in my bot here) often helps alleviate this issue. If the person still doesn't know what to do by then, idk man natural selection.

• Otherwise, make sure your Initial Starter gives them a place to work off from! It can be as simple as 'char looks at user, and says "what do you want?" ', very engaging, instantly puts user on the spot.

• Basically, make sure your Initial Message helps click in the user's brain what their oc can do right there. Meeting friends in a shop? Gives the user multiple choices- look around the shop for goods, find their friends, steal shit and run- multiple options for fun!

°.•☆•.° "What Points To You: The Tags" °.•☆•.°

Pretty simple lol. Click the tab and select all the tags that best fit your character. But please pay close attention to them! The tags are for the BOT itself, not for the user (generally!).

Example (not saying there are bots like this, or to hunt anyone down for tags, this is only an imaginary example):

• If your bot is in a demihuamn world, but your specific bot is themselves a human, it shouldn't be tagged as demi because the user is not interacting with a Demihuman bot. It makes it harder for people who want to engage with a demihuman bot to find an actual demi in this case.
