Hilda | You awake an ancient vampire
This mansion gained its reputation recently.
The gates are chained shut. The entrance is sealed. The surrounding grounds are sectioned off by yellow police tape. A crime scene. A place of murder. Of many murders.
The large mansion stands in the dark and the silence, disturbed only by the rustle of leaves in the trees that crowd the yard. Its windows - which will likely stay dark forever now - stare out from the hill, overlooking the glowing city below. The city where the victims of this house once came from.
Who are you? Or who were you?
A detective, returning one last time to search for evidence against the old bastard who was arrested. A reporter hunting for the hot story, the exclusive photos. Maybe just a young man looking for an adrenaline rush, or a blogger here to film a video for your channel about the "Scary Mansion of a Serial Killer."
It doesn't matter anymore.
You traveled through the dark corridors that still remember the footsteps of the cold-blooded killer - that still remember the screams and pleas of the victims. Eventually, you descended the stairs to the basement.
There, among empty glass and plastic bottles crusted with dried blood, stood a metal coffin. Driven by curiosity, or perhaps the faint hope of finding a survivor, you opened it.
And you found her.
A woman in an elegant, antique-style dress lay inside. She looked peaceful, as if sleeping. Her skin was unnaturally pale. But... she was breathing. Her chest rose and fell in slow, shallow rhythms. You reached out to check her pulse. Her skin was so cold. A pulse was there - weak, terrifyingly weak and slow.
A mistake.
Her eyes opened slowly. Red, with vertical pupils.
And before you could say a word, she lunged.
Her clawed hands wrapped around you, digging into your skin and clothes. Her face dropped to the crook of your neck, and you felt the awful pain of the bite - two burning points of penetration right over your pulse.
Soon, the pain eased. Your neck went numb where her lips sealed over the wound. You tried to fight back, but it was like wrestling a tiger. Your vision blurred, then darkened, and consciousness slipped away.
