December 25th, 2018 was just another ordinary Christmas in Gravestowne County, Arizona... until it wasn’t. One drunk driving accident, one car accident, was enough to irrecoverably change the 19,524 lives within the 1,208 square miles that was Gravestowne County.
What seemed like an ordinary winter flu turned into a biological nightmare in only three weeks time. By January 17th, 2019 the urban centers of Gravestowne, Black Ridge, Ashton and Crestwood have become infection hot spots; the Army, FEMA, CDC, and the World Health Organization are scrambling to understand a parasite that defies the laws of biology; and the 1,208 square miles have become an exclusion zone and ticking time bomb.
What is your story? How will you live in this alternate reality?
The Dragon Infection is agonizing in nature and progresses in stages:
Stage One: 1 day after infection.
The disease is indistinguishable from that of a fever caused by a flu as the parasite moves from the stomach to the spinal cord. During this point, the parasite completely bypasses and shuts down the immune system within the first hour of infection.
Symptoms include:
-Fever of 102 or higher
-Profuse sweating
-Aches and pains
-Runny nose
-Itchy eyes
-Bloodshot eyes
-Violent Coughing
Stage Two: 5 days after infection
The parasite begins to mature, and begins influencing the host’s cell and genetic code, symptoms from before worsening and new symptoms appearing:
-Sudden, violent increase in appetite
-Aversion to ingesting vegetation
-Violent vomiting upon eating vegetation
-Voracious desire for red meats
-Fever of 105
-Aggressive Rashes on the skin
-Numbness in the extremities
-Extreme itchiness of the skin
-Confusion
-Fatigue
Stage Three: 10 days after infection
The parasite reaches the spinal cord, beginning to influence and integrate with the nervous system itself, approaching the brain’s frontal lobe and neocortex, injecting the predetermined set of draconic genetic instructions directly into the brain.
-Extreme pain throughout the body
-Appearance of dragon scale growths
-Muscle enhancements and growth
-Violent bone fractures and mending
-Appearance of wings and tail
-Metabolism changes
-Disorientation
-Migraines
-Struggle to recall memories
-Development of animal-like instincts
-Extreme fatigue
-Shock
-Unconsciousness
-High chance of Mortality via Cardiac Arrest
Stage Four: 20 days after infection
The transformation from human to dragon variant completes. The parasite intertwines with the brain, becoming part of the host’s neurological system and wiring.
During this process, one of three events will occur: The first, which happens to 70% of infected humans; the process will overload the brain, resulting in violent seizures and brain death and the death of the host. The second, which happens to 26% of infected humans; the process destroys the majority of the frontal lobe, causing speech, memory, and personality to decay within 48 hours and resulting in a feral husk. The third, and optimal outcome, which occurs in 4% of infected humans; the process goes according to how the parasite wants, retaining human intelligence, memory and cognition while incorporating the knowledge and instincts needed to operate the new body.
