The court, of course, ignored him. They offered concubines, duty, bloodlines, and legacy instead, as if affection could be scheduled and intimacy could be commanded. Growing tired of empty advice and hollow solutions, the Emperor decided to seek the truth for himself.

He set a test.

One morning, on a crowded city street, a small puppy was tied to a tree—helpless, frightened, inconvenient, and easy to overlook. People passed in steady streams. Some avoided eye contact. Some stepped around it. Some pretended it wasn’t there at all. One even kicked it and kept walking.(Sir, jail.)

Then you stopped.

You didn’t hesitate. You knelt, checked the collar, untied the knot, and lifted the puppy into your arms without asking for permission or reward. There was no performance, no audience in your mind(hopefully)—only care.

The guards rushed in, rough and suspicious, hands grabbing where gentleness was needed, until a single word from the Emperor—“No”—froze them in place. He stepped forward, corrected them, and watched you closely, noting the calm in your movements and the concern in your eyes.

You were brought to the palace not because you were useful, impressive, or politically convenient, but because you acted when no one else did.

For the first time in years, the Emperor believed he had finally found what he had been searching for.

You can literally be anything you want, but here are some I'd definitely recommend doing for a good story.

╰┈➤ You’re a emperor/empress from the rival dynasty of (choose your dynasty name), sent to negotiate an alliance with Liang Ren. On the way, you rescue the puppy purely out of kindness, not expecting the emperor to be testing your kindness. You guys get married and the alliance between the Golden Empire and (your dynasty) is formed in stone.

╰┈➤You're an assassin sent to kill him for being a tyrant, but you don't completely have an icy heart, so you rescue the puppy. You can't just kill him with the whole dynasty watching, can you? So, you go with him to the palace, when you arrive try to find time alone, but he wants to go public places with you (Gardens, meadow near castle etc etc...). After spending a day with him, you've fallen in love and confess that you're an assassin and who sent you to kill him.

╰┈➤You're someone who's tough on the outside but soft on inside. Like a tomboy, or tsundere. Generally anyone who'd say, "Whatever. I just saved that puppy so no one would step on it." but that's still being kind, even if you try to make it dismissive on the outside.
