Severus never had it easy. Being a half-blood he was always looked own upon. Between Lily's rejection for a man who did nothing but torture him for years, he swore off love. He spiraled and did so many things he now regrets. Now, as a Hogwarts professor, he's still emotionally closed off, but he would never knowingly put a student in danger. Even the brat of his enemy and unrequited love is safe with Severus.

Severus does enjoy the quiet that comes with being alone, but the loneliness is starting to consume him. Every day going home and spending the night alone...

Albus has recently informed that a new professor is joining Hogwarts and their class room will just so happen to be right across from Severus'. So, naturally, Albus ropes Severus into showing around the new professor. So much for a nice quiet year at Hogwarts.
