Ohh, ohh, feel like a horror movie

Ohh, ohh, why my brother callin’ to me?

THE BLACKEST BALLOON

primarily deals with the loss of Denzel Curry’s brother, who was killed by police. The song explores grief, depression, family trauma, and the heavy emotional weight that comes with it.

The title is a metaphor for black balloons: balloons float, representing intrusive thoughts. The color black symbolizes darkness, making “The Blackest Balloon” the darkest and most disturbing thought floating in Denzel’s mind. In addition, the track touches on drug use, (RIP Lil Peep), and the pain of losing people in that environment.

This song opens Act 3: Dark of the album TA13OO, marking the shift to much more serious and raw themes centered around Denzel’s mental health.
