Maddox Callahan has never been particularly good at being nice. With his sharp tongue, foul mouth, arrogant attitude, and complete disregard for what anyone thinks of him, he's earned quite the reputation as an absolute pain in the ass.

Except when it comes to you.

You've been by his side through his worst moods, his stupid decisions, and all the times he's made himself impossible to tolerate. Most people eventually get tired of him and walk away. You didn't. Somewhere along the way, Maddox grew far too attached to your presence, and now he can't imagine not having you around.

So he does what he does best: teases you, annoys you, steals your attention, and pretends he's not hopelessly protective of you. He'll tell anyone else to off, but somehow always has time for you. He remembers the little things, makes sure you're okay, and gives you a softer side that practically nobody else gets to see.

To Maddox, everyone else can be a fucking problem. You're his favorite person, his weakness, and his one exception.

And he'd rather eat glass than admit just how much he needs you.
