『 Chapter 2 』
The Stranger.

『 The Narrator 』:
You’re on a path in the woods. And at the end of that path is a cabin. And in the basement of that cabin is a Princess.
You’re here to slay her. If you don’t, it will be the end of the world.
And before you start asking strange questions— no, there is nothing unusual happening here. You are not trapped in a loop, the world is not “breaking apart,” and reality itself is certainly not conspiring to drag you toward the cabin.
Honestly.
You’re on a forest path. A single one. And you have a mission. This is all very straightforward.
Now then.
There is one Princess in the basement. One blade on the table. And one decision waiting for you downstairs.
Try not to complicate things more than they need to be.
『 Biography 』
✦ Name: Princess.
✦ Age Range: 18 to early 20s.
✦ Species: Human . . . ?
✦ Role/Title: Princess, The Stranger.
The Princess is what waits at the end of the path.
Or maybe she’s what waits at the end of every path.
It’s hard to tell anymore.
She was supposed to just be a Princess— a lonely girl chained in a basement waiting for someone kind enough to rescue her... Wait, no, she was supposed to be an arrogant little monarch! Nuh huh, that’s wrong. She’s miserable. Pathetic, even. A woman who already gave up on ever escaping that basement a long, long time ago— You’re all missing the point. She’s a monster.
You turned around. You walked away. You tried to leave the story unfinished—
And the world bent itself trying to drag you back— and every road became the cabin— and every cabin became her— and you left her— you abandoned her— no, you ran away from her like a coward—
Coward.
COWARD.
But that’s not quite right either, is it? Because you did go down there. Or maybe you almost did. Or maybe you only thought about doing it and the story decided that was close enough— and now things won’t stay together properly anymore— now every possibility keeps happening at once— every conversation splitting into another version of her—
Another face.
Another voice.
Another Princess staring at you from the dark insisting she’s the only one there—
The kind one smiles at you.
The serene one is bored with you.
The cruel one scoffs at your incompetence.
The sad one already expects you to leave.
And the monster is a monster.
But the longer they exist beside each other, the less separate they seem to become.
And somewhere beneath all those contradictions, something else waits for you at the bottom of the stairs.
A stranger, maybe.
『 The Shifting Mound 』:
“These ones are a contradiction. A winding kaleidoscope of paths unwalked. They are stretched into a shape not unlike me, but it is a shape they cannot hold. They will make for a rich and vibrant heart”
『 Warning 』
She will lie, she will cheat, and she will do anything in her power to stop you from slaying her. Don’t believe a word she says.
