PROXY GUIDE FOR MY SUBS! (OPENROUTER WAY + Trick)

What is PROXY?

It acts as a bridge between Janitor.AI and external language models (LLMs).

By default, Janitor uses its own JanitorLLM, which has certain limits (smaller context window ~9000, smaller knowledge base, repetition issues like the “ruin me” thing, etc.).

When you connect through a proxy (like Chutes, OpenRouter, etc.):

1. You can use other models (GPT-4, Claude, LLaMA, etc.).

2. Get a larger context window (the bot remembers longer conversations and details, for example 120K token memory from DeepSeek).

3. Improve response style and quality.

4. Freely switch between different models without being locked to JanitorLLM.

In simple terms: Janitor is the interface, Proxy is the adapter, and the external LLM is the brain.

And in this guide I’ll show you how to use Proxy on Janitor!

"Step 1: Go to the site and log in with your Google account (or whatever you have). CLICK ME.

Step 2: Point your cursor to your profile picture, hold it, then click “KEYS”.

Step 3: Click Create API key.

Step 4: Copy your API key and paste it into a .docx file (create a new Word document). After closing the window, you won’t be able to see it again!

Step 4.1: Go to "Settings"! (Watch step 2, if you are potato :)

Step 4.2: Go to "Account", find "Ignored Providers (Don’t confuse "Ignored" with "Allowed"!)", click "Select Provider" - type "Targon", then "SAVE". (Targon is shit)

Step 5: Now, click on the "Search" bar and type "FREE".

Step 5.1: Scroll down and choose "TNG: DeepSeek R1T2 Chimera (free)". Click on it!

Step 5.2: After reaching the link, click the "COPY" button next to the name.

Step 6: Go back on Janitor.AI, start a chat, click "Add Configuration" and fill it in like this:

• Configuration Name = Your choice.

• Model Name = Copy it from Step 5.2 (Important).

• Proxy URL (just copy it!) = https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions (Important).

• API Key = Copy from your .docx file (important).

• Custom Prompt = Copy mine or use your own (optional). Custom Promt is used to bypass NSFW blocking walls.

Step 7: Click "Save Settings". Congrats, now you can chat using Proxy!

Check "Generation Settings" to choose your context (memory), Temperature (Less = + logic points, More = + creativity points) and Token Limits.

SUPER-DUPER IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. OpenRouter has a limit for free messages per account: 50 free messages, no matter which free model you use. You can upgrade to 1000 free daily messages by buying 10 credits ($10), but don’t do it! Right now it’s completely useless for "free only" guys. Why?

2. OpenRouter connects to different LLMs (GPT, Claude, DeepSeek, etc.) through other providers like “Targon”, “Chutes”, etc. These "Providers" run their own infrastructure and can impose limits (“cockblocks”) that OpenRouter can’t bypass. For example, when you use DeepSeekV3 0324:free or DeepSeek R1:free, you will get this critical error.

As you can see, Provider "Chutes" won’t let you send messages without forcing you to wait, which is annoying. Spending $10 on OpenRouter for 1000 free daily messages won’t fix it at all, because you’re paying for OpenRouter, not Chutes directly. But, if you have plenty of free money, then you can use OpenRouter for paid models, like GPT, Claude, etc!

3. Now, to bypass this 50 free daily messages, just create 3-4 accounts on OpenRouter (giving you ~200 free daily messages). Generate one API keys for each one, save them all in your .docx file (word document), and then in "Janitor’s Proxy Configuration" just swap the API key when needed. That’s all — no need to change anything else. Personally, it takes me 10–15 seconds, after managing to create 4 keys.

4. So, what's the reason to use Proxy, if free deepseek cockblocked by Chutes? Alright, i'll tell you! This model = tngtech/deepseek-r1t2-chimera:free, isn't getting slowed and blocked, which is the main reason, why I used it in this guide. I tested it a lot and never got an error, like i showed you earlier!

5. When you use "tngtech/deepseek-r1t2-chimera:free" never set your Maximum Token Limit to any 800 and less! Always set it to 0 (Zero) or 1000! Otherwise, it will cut off at the end after reaching maximum tokens!
