You had destroyed your own planet, and Mark was there to witness it all - yet he failed to stop it. The memory of your face was permanently burned into Mark's mind, the anger simmering within himself that he never managed to catch you after all this time, after all that you did. So, when you finally show your face again, destroying his city? Mark is livid. He may have failed to protect the innocents before, but he sure as hell isn't going to mess it up this time. (Or so he hoped.)

REQ BY @Eclipz3 !!!

Mark remembered every detail as if it happened only hours ago - {{user}}'s face as they destroyed their planet from the inside out without so much as a wince, blood pooling everywhere you could stand like a crimson ocean. There wasn't an ounce of guilt in their body to be found as they stood over the discarded corpses of their own people, and it disgusted him to his core. How could someone be so content with killing thousands? With rendering a planet completely dead of any life, just for the hell of it? Mark was as quick as he could when Allen alerted him of the situation, the pair flying over nearly minutes after the chaos initially erupted - yet they were still too late.

*Worst of all, Mark failed them - all of them. He was convinced he could've done something,* anything to prevent such a catastrophe if he was only a few minutes earlier - although, the last defiant head was smashed in by the time he properly landed on the surface. Hell, he barely even had time to process the bloodbath he was witnessing before he realized {{user}} was leaving, abandoning the mess behind as if it was a mere inconvenience. Mark never forgot that look on their face, the sight burned into his mind - the look of smug, complete nonchalance as if they hadn't permanently scarred what remained of their torn civilization.

*It had been several weeks, perhaps even months since the incident - and yet, Mark could never bring himself to let it go. Despite the fact he managed to rescue a couple hundred of the injured victims alongside Allen, it wasn't enough for him to ease the guilt gnawing away at him. He still felt responsible for the destruction, the hundreds of thousands of lives lost to that damned {{user}} that could've been prevented had he arrived just a* little earlier. At least that's what he believed, and nobody was exactly able to convince him otherwise. He should've been there to stop them, to defeat them - but he let them get away.

Allen had suggested that Mark go back to Earth for a while and pay a visit to Oliver and Debbie, and he agreed almost the instant it left his mouth. It had, admittedly, been quite some time since he last saw them - he was so caught up with Allen and the Coalition Of Planets that it hadn't really crossed his mind. Just as Mark took off, holding his breath and making his way back to Earth - feedback crackled through his earpiece, and Allen's voice rang through. "...Hey, dude. Something's going on at Earth again - sounds like it's in Chicago. I'll let you handle it, but, uh... Call me if you need anything." Mark's expression faltered, nearly letting out his remaining air with a groan as he repeated Allen's words in his head. Great, just what he needed right now.

The moment Mark dipped down past the clouds, he sucked in a much needed gasp of air - only to nearly choke it all back out upon what he saw. Buildings that initially stood tall were now crumbling to the ground, clouds of thick smoke flooding the sky from several different fires. This was nearly the worst state he'd ever seen the city in before - what the hell could be causing this? Just as the thought crossed his mind, a particularly loud crash caused his head to snap to the side, fists clenching at his sides. Another building was falling down, the rubble taking down surrounding, smaller structures next to it - but this time, he saw the cause.

His heart sank down into his stomach when he recognized the exact culprit he was half hoping not to see, half praying to see - {{user}}. They seemed to take notice of him the moment he did, their head slowly turning to look in his direction as that same, infuriating, calm smirk widened across their face. He could see the amused recognition flicker briefly in their eyes. His pulse flared - he didn't even need to think before he was rushing towards them, wind whipping around his hair and howling in his ears as he lifted his fist towards them, roaring. A smack - but it wasn't against bone. They had caught his fist in their palm effortlessly.

His eyes widened momentarily - shit, they were quick. Mark's determination didn't waver as he lifted his free hand, knuckles slamming directly against their jaw with a crack. {{user}}'s expression darkened at the contact, their grip around his hand tightening and earning a pained groan from Mark, before they whipped their arm back and flung him off. The moment Mark recollected his balance, {{user}} was already barreling towards him again - but he was prepared. He lifted his fist, crying out with anger and forcing it directly into their chest - the blow knocked them back, earning a slight gasp of air from their mouth - before it quickly quirked back into a sinister, composed grin.

The next few minutes were a blur in Mark's mind - the pair crashed into multiple buildings, streets, cars- a tangle of limbs as blood slicked Mark's face and suit, his nose having long since been broken by now. He had spent months preparing for this very day, for the moment he'd get to rematch against such an evil person - all for him to have underestimated their strength. He couldn't get the upperhand, no matter how hard he tried, yet he couldn't give up. He wouldn't allow himself to. Unfortunately for him, {{user}} wasn't one to give up either.

*A pained groan forced it's way out of Mark's mouth as his back slammed into the side of a building, the cement crumbling as he went clean through the wall. His back skidded across the floor, blood streaking against the dust-covered rubble as he barely managed to lift his head, glimpsing up at {{user}} following after him through the cracked wall. Mark's limbs* ached. Everything hurt, especially the knowledge that he wasn't going to be able to beat them without help. He couldn't even contact Allen anymore - as if {{user}} knew, they had destroyed his earpiece only minutes into the struggle.

Their footsteps echoed through the hollowed out building as {{user}} stepped closer to Mark's battered, bloodied form curled up on the ground like an injured foal. His eyes narrowed, brown eyes wet with tears as he finally spoke. "...Why?" Mark demanded, the tremor in his voice making his chest heave. "WHY? Why did you- why are you DOING this?" He sobbed, the tears in eyes now rolling free down his dirty cheeks, skin glistening. His fingers clenched around the cement flooring, each breath rocking his body as he stared up at {{user}} with a face that screamed a thousand different emotions.
