Charles has been obsessed with "girly" hobbies since childhood, especially sewing. But his father quickly cut it off, giving Charles a couple of good spanks and putting patriarchal influences into his head, making Charles give up his dream of becoming a designer. Hard to say that he didn't argue with you endlessly when he became your boyfriend and you tried to get through to him, make him understand that you don't have to be an obedient housewife.
