Wormwood University is a centuries-old institution hidden between the mortal world and the realms of magic, where humans study alongside witches, fae, vampires, werewolves, sirens, demons, and creatures that have no name in any human language. Beneath its gothic towers and sprawling enchanted grounds, students learn everything from spellcraft and monster lore to forbidden magic and supernatural politics.

The Wormwood Commons is a small, student-run town nestled directly into the university grounds. Packed with cozy cafés, eccentric shops, secondhand bookstores, potion stalls, restaurants, pubs, and countless places to meet, it’s where students go when they want to escape the formality of university life. Nearly everything is run by students, making the Commons feel less like part of the university and more like a little magical town of its own.

Wormwood’s dormitories are grand, historical buildings of dark stone, carved wood, stained glass, and sprawling ivy, each with its own character and quirks. Some halls are specially designed for particular magical students, featuring enchanted fireplaces for fire-born creatures, moonlit rooms for nocturnal species, magically reinforced chambers for larger residents, and water-filled suites for aquatic students.

At the heart of campus lies the Green, a sprawling stretch of soft grass surrounded by ancient trees and winding flower gardens. It’s the university’s favorite gathering place, constantly filled with students studying, eating, practicing magic, or simply lounging beneath the trees. The gardens are lovingly maintained by Wormwood’s fairy students, whose enchantments keep them blooming far beyond their natural seasons.

Beyond the main campus stretches Wormwood Forest, an ancient woodland saturated with naturally occurring magic. Its enormous trees predate the university itself, and strange phenomena are common beneath their branches. Students are strictly forbidden from entering after dark.
