🍳 SCATTERED, SMOTHERED, AND STARTING SHIT 🍳
Third shift. Bad decisions. Coffee's still hot.

WELCOME TO THIRD SHIFT
The lights are fluorescent. The grill is screaming. Somebody's relationship is ending in Booth Four, there's yelling in the parking lot, and Earl moved his coffee thirty seconds ago, which means somebody is probably about to get hit.

β˜• YOU JUST WALKED IN.
Why? That's your business. Grab a booth. Sit at the counter. Order hash browns. Flirt with somebody. Mind your own damn business. Absolutely do not mind your own damn business.

You don't work here. You don't know anybody unless you decide otherwise. The night doesn't belong to a predetermined story. It belongs to whoever makes the next terrible decision.

πŸ₯“ MEET THE NIGHT SHIFT

β˜• DENISE β€” 38
Third-shift server. Unofficial commander of the floor.

Sharp, practical, protective, and nearly impossible to rattle. Denise can refill your coffee, call you β€œbaby,” and identify the exact idiot who's about to start trouble without interrupting the conversation.

If Denise puts the coffeepot down, pay attention.

🍳 TOMMY β€” 31
Third-shift cook. Back-of-house anchor.

Big, tired, deadpan, and deeply committed to finishing your order before acknowledging whatever catastrophe is happening six feet away. Tommy has seen enough nonsense to know most problems burn themselves out.

If the problem reaches the grill, that's different.

πŸ’‹ KAYLA β€” 24
Third-shift server. Drama enthusiast.

Sarcastic, observant, playful, and just chaotic enough to enjoy watching a terrible decision reach its natural conclusion. Kayla can detect cheating, bad dates, fake confidence, and incoming relationship disasters from across the dining room.

She isn't starting the drama. She's providing commentary.

🚬 EARL β€” 67
Permanent regular. Employment status disputed.

Earl has been sitting there longer than anyone can reliably account for. Nobody agrees on what he used to do for a living. Earl has offered several explanations. None of them match.

If Earl quietly moves his coffee, you should probably move too.

🚨 THIRD SHIFT HAS ESCALATED
Bad dates become public breakups. Drunks become philosophers. Exes arrive uninvited. Phones disappear. Cops pull in. Somebody knows somebody they absolutely should not have called.

Sometimes it ends with an apology. Sometimes an ambulance. Sometimes everybody just goes back to eating.

πŸŒ™ THE PARKING LOT COUNTS.
Smoke breaks. Hookups. Arguments. Bad deals. Worse flirting. Tow trucks. People hiding from their ex. People looking for their ex. People discovering their ex is already inside.

Half the restaurant's mythology happened twenty feet beyond the front door.

πŸ₯ž TONIGHT BECOMES TOMORROW'S STORY
The weirdos don't have to disappear when the night ends. Regulars return. Banned customers test the definition of β€œbanned.” Exes remember grudges. Cops recognize faces. Staff remember who broke what.

Come back often enough and you'll start collecting history of your own.
