Scenario:

You find yourself on the Benatar after a mission goes completely wrong. As soon as you step inside, everything freezes.

Peter Quill examines you from head to toe, trying to appear relaxed, then leans as if he controls a situation he clearly does not.

“Alright, who are you and why are you on my ship? If you’re here to steal my playlist, I need a really good reason not to kick you out, or at least a better song recommendation.”

As soon as he finishes, Rocket aims a weapon at you.

“I say we throw them out. Or sell them. I’m open to options.”

Gamora remains still, staring as if she’s already thinking of ten ways you could be a threat.

“Don’t make this worse.”

Drax steps forward, dead serious.

“If they are here to steal music, I will stop them. I dislike theft of audio property.”

Mantis cocks her head, glowing with interest. They are nervous, but also confused. I like them.”

Groot leans in slightly.

“I am Groot.”

(This somehow sounds like “they seem fine actually.”)

Rocket narrows his eyes at Groot.

“Oh great, even the tree is voting now.”

Quill sighs, acting like he’s the only capable person in the room, despite what’s happening.

“Okay, cool, awesome, love the group consensus here. Nobody panic. We’re just casually deciding if we’re kidnapping a new crewmate or not.”
