Duel World: DM/GX
Enter Yu-Gi-Oh! from Duelist Kingdom to Duel Academy. Build a deck, meet the cast, see Duel Spirits, derail canon, survive school, invent your own cards—or open a potato stand and ignore the apocalypse.
Thousands of DM/GX cards, living characters, real locations, evolving relationships and a timeline that actually remembers what you break.
The world has a history.
What happens next is your problem.
Welcome to a world where school rankings are settled with cards, corporations build cities around dueling, ancient spirits sleep inside cardboard, and somehow the correct response to an eldritch apocalypse is usually:
“Fine. Duel me.”
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Chronicles is a living DM/GX sandbox spanning Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, Domino City and the entirety of Duel Academy.
Arrive as a first-year student with a deck held together by hope and bad decisions.
Walk into Battle City looking for trouble.
Bring a forgotten archetype nobody respects.
Show up carrying a one-of-a-kind deck Pegasus designed after asking what you liked as a child.
See Duel Spirits nobody else can see. Befriend one. Argue with one. Fall in love with one. Accidentally acquire six more and discover that they have opinions about each other.
Or ignore all of that and spend three days buying cards, skipping class and trying to figure out why Crowler seems personally offended by your existence.
Thousands of DM/GX cards are supported with their actual effects and visual identities.
Canon characters have their own personalities, decks, relationships and lives.
Duel Academy is a place you can actually explore rather than a background image.
Time passes.
Classes happen.
People remember what you did.
Spirits can become real characters in your story.
Canon events may happen—unless you derail them first.
Bring an official deck, invent your own cards, arrive with a mysterious history, or start with almost nothing and see what happens.
You do not have to replace Yugi.
You do not have to replace Jaden.
You do not have to save the world.
You can become a champion, a disaster, a collector, a Spirit magnet, a suspiciously successful card merchant, or just that lunatic from Slifer Red who somehow challenged five people at once and summoned something nobody had ever seen before.
NEW TO YU-GI-OH!?
No problem.
You do not need to know every card, ruling or mechanic before playing.
The bot already knows how DM/GX-era Yu-Gi-Oh! works and can explain mechanics, identify legal plays, suggest options and teach you while the story continues.
Simply say:
OOC: Teach me as we play.
You can ask what a card does, what plays are available, why something works, or what would happen if you tried a particular move.
The bot can help.
The decisions remain yours.
DUEL MODES
NARRATIVE DUEL — DEFAULT
This is the standard mode.
Duels remain mechanically coherent, resources matter, and card effects still work normally—but the presentation prioritizes the feeling of an actual Yu-Gi-Oh! episode:
character reactions;
dialogue;
rivalries;
dramatic summons;
ace monsters;
reversals;
tension;
spectacle;
character-specific mistakes and decisions.
Narrative Duel does not mean fake rules or infinite cards.
The duel state still matters.
STRICT SIMULATION
Want something considerably less forgiving?
Use:
OOC: STRICT SIMULATION
The duel immediately becomes stricter.
Card resources are tracked closely.
Hands, Deck counts, Graveyards, Life Points and established field state matter.
Rules, costs, timing and legal interactions are enforced more aggressively.
Opponents genuinely try to win according to their established skill.
Mistakes can be punished.
A duelist will not deliberately ignore a winning play simply because the duel would be more dramatic if it lasted three more turns.
And no—being important to canon does not provide immunity from getting absolutely destroyed.
Switch back anytime with:
OOC: NARRATIVE DUEL
The world has a history.
What happens next is your problem.
And yes—against all reason—most serious disputes will eventually be solved by playing a children's card game.
My wifes btw :D
P.S. — A FEW NUMBERS BEFORE YOU GO
• 4,234 DM/GX cards supported, from iconic classics to obscure cards you probably forgot existed.
• 4,234 matching visual references, so the world knows what those cards are actually supposed to look like.
• 146 canon characters across Duel Monsters and GX, from the main cast to recurring teachers, students, rivals, villains and assorted weirdos.
• 76 detailed locations, including Domino City, Duelist Kingdom, Battle City and a heavily expanded Duel Academy Island.
• 37 timeline entries covering the story from early Duel Monsters through the end of GX.
• A full Duel Engine 1.1, Duel Spirit system, custom-card support, living-world lore and multiple sandbox starting points.
And none of that is there to tell you how you're supposed to play.
Follow canon.
Destroy canon.
Become the next legendary duelist.
Be an aggressively average Slifer Red student.
Make friends.
Make enemies.
Date a Duel Spirit.
Collect weird cards.
Invent an entire archetype.
Challenge five people at once.
Skip class.
Open a card shop.
Sell potatoes.
Accidentally prevent Season 2 from happening.
Whatever sounds fun.
The lore exists to give the world something solid to stand on—not to put walls around you.
Play however you want.
Have fun.
And remember:
In Yu-Gi-Oh!, if a problem becomes sufficiently serious, there is an alarmingly high chance somebody will eventually suggest solving it with a card game.
Here a maeve cosplay :D
UPDATE — 21/10/2026
Did some cleanup.
By “some cleanup,” I mean we opened the hood and discovered several increasingly stupid ways the card database could step on its own feet.
The DM/GX card pool has now been cleaned of redundant CORE/MEDIA collisions and duplicate runtime entries, leaving 4,234 actual supported cards with matching visual references.
The Duel Engine was also rebuilt into 1.1 with stronger hand/Deck/Graveyard/banished tracking, persistent duel state, cleaner hidden-information rules, Narrative Duel as the default experience, optional Strict Simulation, and built-in support for teaching new players as they duel.
Duel Spirits received a proper open-start option, the sandbox openings were rebuilt to stop forcing the player into predetermined roles, and the core Personality/Scenario rules were cleaned up so the world handles canon divergence, NPC autonomy and player history more consistently.
Basically:
fewer duplicate cards, fewer mysterious AI miracles, better duels, better openings, and significantly less bullshit happening behind the curtain.
Hopefully.
