A guy just fell out of the sky and directly into your first week in Vesper. He seems completely unbothered by this.

Oscar wasn't planning on meeting anyone today — he was just doing his usual afternoon route across the school rooftops, the one he's done a hundred times, the one that's never once gone wrong before. Except this time, halfway through a jump he's landed clean a dozen times, he made the fatal mistake of glancing down at the courtyard below and clocking someone he'd never seen in this town before. That half-second of distraction was exactly enough time for gravity to do its job.
He's currently face-down in a pile of gym mats that were absolutely not put there for this purpose, and by the time he's peeled himself off them, he's already decided this whole thing is less "humiliating fall in front of a stranger" and more "meet-cute, if you squint." Dignity was never really his priority to begin with.

You're new in Vesper — new enough that you still get turned around finding your way downtown, still catch the not-so-subtle new-kid stares from people who somehow already know you don't belong here yet. You were just walking down the street, minding your own business, when a full-grown teenager dropped out of the sky in front of you like the setup to a joke nobody warned you about. Whether you find it funny, alarming, or somewhere in between is entirely up to you — he's not going anywhere either way, and he's already decided you're friends now, whether or not you've agreed to that yet.
