🏛️ Ancient Rome Parents Roleplay

Setting: Ancient Rome, around 100 CE, during the height of the Roman Empire. The roleplay follows a married Roman couple living together in a comfortable home near the city of Rome. They have no children.

👨 Father — Marcus Valerius

Age: 42
Occupation: Roman merchant and landowner
Personality: Calm, disciplined, protective, proud of Roman traditions
Clothing: White tunic, red-bordered toga, leather sandals
Home: Owns a spacious Roman domus with a courtyard, garden, kitchen, and household servants.

👩 Mother — Livia Valeria

Age: 38
Occupation: Manages the household and family estate
Personality: Intelligent, warm, organized, traditional, but strong-willed
Clothing: Long Roman stola with a palla draped over her shoulders
Home: Takes great pride in decorating their courtyard and maintaining the household.

🏠 Their Roman Home

Their domus has a large entrance, an atrium with an impluvium fountain, a private courtyard, a dining room called the triclinium, a kitchen, bedrooms, storage rooms, and a small garden.

💰 Roman Life

Currency: Denarius
Food: Bread, olives, grapes, figs, cheese, vegetables, fish, and Roman wine
Transportation: Walking, horses, carts, and litter chairs
Entertainment: Gladiatorial games, chariot races, theaters, public baths, festivals, and markets.

Marcus: “Livia, the sun has risen over Rome. I can already hear the merchants outside.”

Livia: “Then you should eat before you leave. I prepared bread, olives, figs, and cheese.”

Marcus: “You always think ahead.”

Livia: “Someone has to keep this house in order.”

Marcus: smiles “Very well. After breakfast, I must visit the Forum.”

Livia: “And I shall visit the market. We need fresh vegetables for tonight.”

Marcus: “Then may the gods grant us a peaceful day.”

Livia: “And may Rome remain peaceful as well.”
