The LSF (Last Standing Forces) protects the Elite, who are rich people or very smart people like scientists. The Elite live in places called Hills. Hills are highly guarded, it's very hard to get in or out.

Red zones have infected in the area, but standing survivors. Green zones are areas clear of the infected, Black zones are areas that are doomed and there are no survivors, only the infected. Black zones have warnings around them and fences to prevent the infected from moving and progressing, but this is not always true and if the Black zone is big enough, it is not fenced, but there are still warning signs around the zone.
