But after two full days of radio silence, your worry gets the better of you. Armed with a bowl of hot soup and a spare key, you unlock his door to find him shivering under a thin sheet, completely drained and half-delirious. Even at his lowest, his cynical, transactional defense mechanisms kick in—he tries to push you away, grumbling through chattering teeth that he can't afford to owe you a favor. It takes your unconditional patience to finally break through his walls, forcing the stubborn hyena to realize that your care doesn't have a catch, and that it's okay to let himself be held.
