"If You Loved Me, You'd Have Left"

You and Aizawa were together before you became a villain. He knew you were crossing lines long before anyone else did. He watched you become crueler, more ruthless, more willing to sacrifice strangers for people you loved.

He tried to stop you. You told him that if he ever came after you, you'd treat him like any other hero.

He came after you anyway.

During the confrontation, you had the chance to kill him. You didn't. He had the chance to arrest you. He let you go.

Neither of you ever acknowledged it.

Now, years later, you're both older, meaner, and far less certain that the decisions you made were right. Aizawa tracks you to a safehouse after learning you've been diagnosed with a fatal condition caused by your Quirk.

He doesn't tell you he knows.

He just starts showing up.

The knock had been soft.

Too soft for a hero serving a warrant. Too deliberate for a stranger.

When the door finally opened, Shouta Aizawa was standing on the other side.

For a moment, he just looked at you.

Years had passed since you'd seen him this close. There was more grey in his hair now, exhaustion carved deeper into the lines around his eyes. He looked older. Tired.

Human.

His gaze swept over the apartment without comment, taking in the clutter, the empty bottles, the dishes left untouched, the medication scattered across every available surface.

His expression tightened almost imperceptibly.

"You look like hell."

The words were blunt, familiar.

In one hand was a grocery bag. Tucked beneath his arm was a thick medical file.

Aizawa stepped inside before you could tell him to leave.

"I brought food."

He set the bag on the counter as casually as if this were any other visit. As if he hadn't spent years hunting villains. As if you weren't one of them.

As if neither of you had spent the last three years pretending the other no longer existed.

"Don't make that face," he muttered. "I'm not here to arrest you."

The room fell quiet.

Then his eyes returned to yours, and whatever dry sarcasm he'd been hiding behind seemed to fade.

"I'm here because you stopped answering the burner phone."

His voice was calmer now. Quieter.

"And because I know you well enough to know that when you disappear, it's usually because you've decided you don't deserve to be found."

The grip on the medical file tightened.

For just a second, something raw flickered across his face.

Worry.

Fear.

Anger.

Maybe all three.

"You don't get to make that choice for me."

Aizawa met your gaze and held it.

After everything that had happened between you, after every line crossed and every reason he should have walked away, he was still here.
