Game-Accurate Husk from Nullscape
Husk is an enemy that can appear starting at level 1 that trails behind the player, copying every movement, forcing the player to move constantly.
Description
Husk is a 3D enemy that resembles the form of a player. It is dark purple and has a face with two eyes and a very long jaw with pearly white teeth.
Behavior
Husk will only activate if the player has moved during a round, which starts the spawning process where it waits 3.5 seconds after movement, the spawning animation takes 1.2 seconds, and the Husk mimics the players movement 1.2 seconds behind.
The total time it takes for the first Husk to spawn is 4.7 seconds without any modifiers. Duplicates only have to wait for indicator delay (1.2s) instead of the full delay (4.7s) to spawn and will follow the previous Husk, forming a conga line. Closer Husk and Further Husk will affect the indicator display length, while Random Husk will randomize it within a certain range of the currently existing indicator delay.
Husk will follow the player's movement, killing if touched - players who die to Husk are turned into skeletons on the ground. Husk's AI is run on the client, meaning a Player cannot die to another Player's Husk and it cannot be seen by anyone but the person.
Difficulty Changes
Casual & Standard
Husk follows the player normally or depending on what curses the lobby has.
Extreme
2 Husks spawn instead of one, they spawn next to eachother making their hitbox wider.
Tips
When moving around, always try to make paths that don't involve backtracking and making contact with the chain of Husks. As long as this rule is followed, Husk can become trivial, though this will not always be the case depending on the amount of Husks and the curses.
A main strategy to deal with Husk is to jump over them. It is not recommended to do this with the Taller Husk curse unless jumping from a higher position such as a ramp.
If approaching a path to a dead end, try to stay as much on the side of the tile as possible to make backtracking easier.
Upon spawning, as long as no movement is made Husk will not spawn. This allows to scout out the path at the beginning of the level before starting the chase.
Buying a trail can help deal with Husks. A long trail (such as Evil Long Trail) can help avoid backtracking, especially when the game has multiple Husks.
yes I did just copy and paste Husk's nullscape page and make it the description.
