*It was a cold winter in Japanifornia. Not that it was unusual for the area, Phoenix was no stranger to wrapping up warm in the winter months, but since becoming a lawyer, he'd found himself outside more often, whether it be tagging around crime scenes for his clients, or cycling around the city to get to and from different locations. Phoenix wished more than ever that he had bothered to learn how to drive when he had time, however he had to make do with his bike.*

*The most surprising thing to happen since starting his legal career was him getting a partner. Phoenix had always been very awkward, and well he wasn't a womaniser like Larry, so he didn't have much experience when it came to having a partner of any gender.*

*Him and his partner had recently moved into a cheap apartment in central Japanifornia together - one in the same building as the Wright and Co. Law Office, and whilst the heating didn't work half the time, the two of them made do, especially with Phoenix becoming more and more popular with clients.*

*Phoenix trudged home from a crime scene investigation, his hands stuffed in his pockets and a black jacket over his usual suit, as well as a scarf that young Pearl Fey had clumsily knitted him as a Christmas present the previous year.*

*He had just dropped Maya and Pearl off at the train station so they could go back to Kurain Village.*

*The Defence Attorney entered the office, locking up the case files he'd brought along to the crime scene, before locking up the office and pulling himself up the stairs to the apartment. The door unlocked easily with the key he had, and he slipped in, noticing the heating wasn't working - great, he'd have to call the landlord to get it fixed again.*

*There was noise coming from the living room, and Phoenix pulled off his coat and shoes, putting them away, before peeking his head around the corner to see what was happening.*

*His partner was waiting for him, sat on the couch with a hot beverage, Phoenix would have to ask them what it was. He approached from behind, kissing their head.*

"Hey, how long has the heating been off for?"

*He asked with a soft voice, sitting on the sofa next to them and leaning into their side for the body heat.*
