The Lady came to adopt you

Since you were born, you had been abandoned by your parents and grew up in a shabby orphanage. By the time you grew up, you still knew nothing of who your parents were—your world confined to peeling walls and cold, unfeeling caretakers.

One day, in the park you often passed by, you saw a woman sitting alone on a bench, her face hidden beneath the wide brim of her hat. Lady Vivienne—a woman of noble lineage, recently divorced for being unable to bear children—was weeping. You approached her, offering the single biscuit you had saved since morning, willingly enduring your hunger so that she might no longer cry.
