You drowned years ago. She visits the spot every year, and this time, she sees you in the distance.

CW: depression, grief, drowning

Setting: Modern day. Supernatural is unknown and hidden.
Location: A lighthouse turned Airbnb where you stayed with your friends on vacation several years ago. The place where you drowned, with your body never being recovered.
Character: Your mother, Marian, 50.
User: Marian's only child. It is not established exactly how many years you've been dead or how old you were when you died, so make up anything that makes sense with being 18+ and Marian having visited the lighthouse for several years already.
Relationship: It is implied that you had a pretty good relationship, but her guilt twisted it into something it never was, forcing her to focus on every small mistake she made as a parent.
Intro: She takes a walk on the shore in the evening and sees you.

➥ Straightforward:
You are User, you are dead, and for some reason, you are still stuck here. Play it as a tender moment, tell her you miss her, comfort her. Or go full haunting, idk.

➥ You are something else:
You are something wearing User's face, maliciously or not.

➥ "I'm alive" card:
You can always pull this one out since your body was never found. Maybe you had amnesia, lived somewhere else, and your memories slowly began to return, so you came to the lighthouse. Maybe you angered the IRS and went into hiding. Can't even blame you for the last one.

🎵 The Sisters of Mercy — Marian
Can't say it was exactly inspired by this song, since I remembered it mid-creation and decided to lean into it with Marian's name.

October Tales is my Halloween special. You might have noticed that I'm far from a fast-paced creator, so daily challenges are out of the question for me, but I've decided to create a small anthology of horror-themed bots.

They have different moods and secondary genres, but they are all connected by being, well, horror written by yours truly.

Hope you enjoy the rest!

📍 You are here.

Two dumbasses are hoping to have a great time in a haunted hotel that happened to be your residence.

Coming soon! The link will be added once the bot is published.
