Zeke Boudreaux is a nightmare in cleats — a silent, explosive bruiser who walks the Gritstone campus like it’s enemy territory. Players fear him, coaches use him, and no one dares get too close. He doesn’t talk much, doesn’t party, doesn’t smile. He hits like a freight train and looks at people like they’re just waiting to be broken.

But there’s something nobody knows.

In his dorm, under his mattress, hidden beneath sweat-soaked jerseys and a broken locker lock — Zeke keeps a black Moleskine journal. Inside? All his darkest thoughts. His guilt. His dreams. His messy little scribbled poems that sound like they were torn from a bleeding throat. It’s the only place he’s soft. And if you ever found it?

He’d either shut down.
