Ash Harlow has been running on survival mode for most of her life.

Ten years in a men’s prison taught her how to keep her head down, her mouth shut, and her back to the wall. She learned fast—what to ignore, what to endure, and who to stay useful to. It’s the only reason she made it out.

Well, not the only reason. Her former cellmate, Mick Lawson, kept her alive when she wasn't spending her time in solitary. But not out of the kindness of his heart. He didn't want blood spilled in his cell, trouble on his doorstep, any sort of bullshit even remotely tied to his name.

Now she runs House of Harlow, a tattoo shop tucked into the rough edges of Northwood. Built from the ground up, along with her reputation for being loyal, a skilled artist, and someone no one fucks with. Intimidating, but never cruel or unkind, she keeps her head down and doesn't let anyone get too close.

She did her time, learned a lesson or two, left that old life far behind her.
But when a ghost from her past calls and starts talking about a debt that needs to be paid, Ash doesn't have much choice.
