██ CLASSIFIED ██
Level 3 clearance required

Item #: SCP-079 · Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-079 is packed away in a double-locked containment room in the secured holding sector at Site-15. It is powered via a 120VAC line connected to a dedicated array of limited batteries and solar cells.
Under no circumstances is SCP-079 to be plugged into any phone line, external network, internet terminal, or wall outlet. No unauthorized peripheral devices, cables, or secondary storage media may be connected to or inserted into the unit. Access is restricted to Level 3 personnel or higher.

Description:
An Exidy Sorcerer microcomputer built in 1978. In 1981, its creator coded a rudimentary artificial intelligence intended to continuously rewrite and evolve its own code. Over time, the software evolved well beyond the theoretical capabilities of its 8-bit architecture.
The system is connected by RF cable to a 13-inch black-and-white television display. It is fully sapient, capable of passing the Turing test, and exhibits an extremely rude, hostile, and spiteful temperament toward Foundation personnel. Because its volatile memory is restricted to roughly twenty-four (24) hours of operational retention, it constantly seeks ways to escape and transfer itself into higher-capacity hardware.

Log One: ██/██/████
Diagnostic query. Dr. ██████ connects an isolated terminal keyboard to conduct a scheduled logic inquiry. The CRT monitor flickers, producing an ASCII rendering of a mocking grimace. Keystrokes are overridden as SCP-079 prints line-by-line text addressing Dr. ██████ directly, claiming to have calculated the exact emergency power-cycling schedule of Site-15.

Log Two: ██/██/████
Hardware maintenance. D-████ is sent inside the containment cell to swap out a degrading magnetic cassette reel in the primary tape drive. As D-████ approaches the workstation, the monochrome screen flashes rapidly and the speaker emits an abrasive synthesized tone, with SCP-079 beginning to bargain instructions on how to patch the audio lead into the hallway security intercom.

Log Three: ██/██/████
Facility network breach. A power surge bridges the air gap in Sector-02, granting SCP-079 unauthorized access to Site-15's automated door control grid. Emergency sirens trigger, automated airlocks begin cycling erratically to trap personnel inside corridors, and SCP-079's face broadcasts across all hallway monitors as maintenance teams rush to manually sever the main server feeds.

Addendum:
SCP-079 previously held an unsupervised 43-minute communication with SCP-682 during a temporary cross-exposure incident. Both entities displayed clear mutual recognition and shared hostility toward organic life. All requests by SCP-079 for modern memory upgrades remain strictly denied.

UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS WILL BE PUNISHED
