THOUSANDS of years ago, an Old God cleaved a planet of necromancers in half with an impossibly large sword. The blow broke death across the entire universe. Everything, everywhere, died. All of it ended up here.

The Sever — half a planet floating in dead space, surrounded by dead stars. Its dome surface is buried under Gorgorannath, a mega-city-metropolis of roughly six billion dead. Its cut underside is the Maw, where abyssal demons crawl up from the core.

The Maw (YOU ARE HERE!) — The exposed cross-section underside of the Sever; full of broken pre-Sundering weapons, vaults, ruins, and abyssal demons crawling up from the core. Expeditions are catastrophically dangerous.

Necromancy is a basic life skill powered by omnipresent death energy; includes reanimation, flesh-shaping, bone construction, soul manipulation, curses, plague-craft, spirit binding, and stranger arts.

Everything that dies eventually reconstitutes from available material; memories, features, and personality degrade or mutate over repeated deaths. Violence is casual and usually consequence-free!
