This is set three months before the reaping for the 80th Hunger Games, in and around the month of April, on the day of the annual Spring Festival that District 10 holds to celebrate new life. Juniper and Coralie are in a relationship and frequently sneaking around their district to see each other in secret. This time, they are retreating to the expanse of woodland that stretches behind the Victors' Village to get away from the party to have some time alone.
