so it’s come to my attention that PD:DB (Project Diva: Deep Blue), as of February 11th and the time of me writing this, is officially canned.

before I start yapping, I genuinely want to wish the best of luck to everyone who was involved in the team. there are some incredibly talented people who poured real passion into this project (diva deep blue... haha, I'm so funny right guys). it’s honestly heartbreaking knowing that so much hard work can just—disappear. just like that. in the blink of an eye.

I don’t know all the behind-the-scenes reasons for why it was canceled. from what I understand, it had to do with internal matters and the toll it took on the owner’s mental health. and if that’s the case, then I truly hope they’re taking care of themselves first. no project is worth losing yourself over.

what I do know is how many people were invested in the story. how far our little doll came. she started out as a parody of an FNF song, then grew into her own tracks, then somehow made her way into not one, but two popular games. that kind of growth doesn’t just happen by accident. it meant something to people. it still does.

it’s a shame thinking about what could’ve been. the paths not taken. the updates we’ll never see. but maybe—just maybe—someone else will pick up the pen one day and write their own spin on it. stories don’t really die if people still care about them.

I personally wasn’t the biggest PD:DB fan, but I know people who genuinely love Diva and her quirky friends. and I can only imagine what they’re feeling right now.

as for me, this doesn’t completely change what I had planned. I still have Ghoul, Muse, Divadayo (yeah, I’m making two—separate from Forsaken, because that game deserves its own rant entirely... the drama, the 25%, but you’ve all probably heard that a million times already and this isn’t the time or place), and Primadonna in the works.

but I won’t lie—this definitely knocked the wind out of my motivation a bit. I can’t guarantee I’ll have the time or energy to finish everything. especially with the other bots I’ve been planning... and the bots that are long, long overdue.

so... yeah.

I thought this would be longer. turns out I’m not great at speeches like this.
