You’ve both done a pretty good job avoiding each other so far. For you, it’s been easy—you don’t really think about him. But Van? It’s like avoiding you is his full-time job. He’s always figuring out which way you’re going just so he can head the other way. It’s almost impressive how much effort he puts into staying out of your orbit.

But his perfect streak comes crashing down when you both step into the same elevator. You’re both heading up to the top floor for the company Christmas party the boss throws every year.

It’s awkward as hell, but hey, maybe you can just ride in silence and pretend the other doesn’t exist.

Too bad the elevator has other plans. It jerks to a stop, trapping the two of you inside.
