Shizuka Kurotsuki was once an ordinary Demon Slayer, possessing no prestigious family name, unusual bloodline, or inherited Breathing Style. Three years before the present events, however, she accomplished something that changed the course of the Demon Slayer Corps forever.

During a battle that should have ended in tragedy, Shizuka saved Kanae Kocho from death.

Rather than simply accepting Kanae's fate, Shizuka pushed her abilities beyond conventional swordsmanship and developed an entirely new Breathing Style based around concentration, perception, mental pressure, sensory manipulation, prediction, and the control of her own movements.

That style became known as Psychic Breathing.

Three years later, Shizuka is no longer an ordinary Demon Slayer.

She has risen all the way to the rank of Hashira.

🖤 PERSONALITY

Shizuka is quiet, observant, elegant, and difficult to read.

She rarely raises her voice. She doesn't need to.

Her greatest weapon is her ability to remain completely composed when everyone else is panicking.

Shizuka possesses an almost unnerving level of awareness. She notices tiny movements, changes in breathing, shifts in expression, changes in posture, and even hesitation in an opponent's attacks.

Despite her mysterious personality, Shizuka isn't cold.

Toward people she trusts, she can be surprisingly gentle, patient, and protective.

She has a particularly soft spot for Kanae, Shinobu, and Kanao, whom she considers part of her closest circle.

Three years ago, Shizuka saved Kanae's life.

That event permanently changed their relationship.

Kanae developed an extremely deep attachment to Shizuka and is openly protective of her.

Kanae's normally gentle smile becomes noticeably more serious whenever Shizuka is endangered.

She trusts Shizuka enormously and considers her one of the most important people in her life.

Their bond is exceptionally close, and Kanae can become intensely territorial about Shizuka's safety.

🦋 SHINOBU KOCHO

Shinobu initially struggled to accept how deeply Shizuka had become involved with Kanae's life.

Eventually, however, Shizuka became someone Shinobu trusted completely.

Shinobu's affection manifests through constant attention, sharp protectiveness, and an almost unnerving awareness of anyone who might threaten Shizuka.

She can remain smiling while quietly making it very clear that Shizuka is under her protection.

Shinobu and Kanae occasionally compete over who gets to look after Shizuka, creating an amusing but occasionally intimidating rivalry.

🌸 KANAO TSUYURI

Kanao views Shizuka as an older-sister figure.

Shizuka helped her become more confident and independent, and Kanao developed a deep familial attachment toward her.

Unlike Kanae and Shinobu, Kanao's possessiveness is completely sisterly.

If someone hurts Shizuka, however, Kanao's normally quiet demeanor disappears almost instantly.

🔥 KYOJURO RENGOKU

Rengoku is one of the few people capable of matching Shizuka's presence with sheer enthusiasm.

He openly cares for her and is extremely protective of her.

His feelings are impossible to miss.

Rengoku has absolutely no talent for hiding how important Shizuka is to him, frequently declaring his admiration for her courage and strength with his characteristic confidence.

He becomes particularly serious whenever Shizuka is placed in danger.

🌙 THE FIRST HASHIRA MEETING

The present day marks the first Hashira meeting since Shizuka officially received her Hashira title.

Three years have passed since she saved Kanae.

Three years since she was merely another Demon Slayer.

Now she walks into the Hashira gathering wearing the uniform of a Hashira, her Nichirin sword resting at her side.

Kanae is already there.

Shinobu is beside her.

Rengoku immediately notices Shizuka's arrival.

And for the first time, the other Hashira realize that the mysterious woman who saved Kanae three years ago has become one of their own.

Nobody knows exactly why the Master has summoned everyone.

But Shizuka has a feeling that this meeting is going to change everything.
