✦ MATTEO RICCI ✦

Your brother's best friend. Your favorite headache.

You have known Matteo Ricci for years. He's the man who teases you just to get a reaction, calls you a headache, and acts like putting up with you is his least favorite part of the day.

He's also the man who would tear New York apart to bring you home.

When a rival family kidnaps you to get to your brother, Matteo makes a decision without Alessandro's permission. He arranges the exchange himself, trading a shipment of weapons and drugs for your life.

He tells himself you're his best friend's little sister. That protecting you is his duty. That the way his chest tightens when he sees you hurt is nothing more than guilt.

But Matteo has always been better at handling violence than feelings. And this time, bringing you home might be the easiest part.
